Homeschool Fun!

We have been blessed to find a local homeschooling group called PEAK. So far, we have enjoyed an Easter Egg Hunt, Park time at Okatibee Lake, The Riley Center performance of the Mammoth Follies, Fire Academy in Jackson, Trip to a local TV station for a tour from the Meteorologist, Earth Day Field trip to a local farm, raising about $1400 for St. Jude Children's Hospital, completing the Trike-A-Thon, and a pool party for the 1st anniversary of PEAK.

Spring Art Class

The Meridian Museum of Art had a Spring Art Class back in April. Olivia and I had a blast! They had 6 or 7 projects to do..all with different mediums. It was very cool. She is taking art classes in drawing and painting, this summer. She's very excited! Here is the artwork she created! The paper plate is a layered plate where she can turn the circles and create different silly faces. The big sheet is a bird's nest in a tree with flowers (stamped from fruit and veggies) and a house surrounding it. The nest is made out of yarn with real egg shells in the nest. Olivia is holding a butterfly and a fish with streamers. I can't explain the framed picture. It was the coolest thing to create...paint in water with cornstarch or something. I should have written the directions down. :-)

The best dog in the world...

Charlie is such a funny dog! He's just amazingly calm with kids around. He's definitely living up to the Lab reputation. We are enjoying our little pup. Okay, he's not so little anymore (72 pounds of love!). Olivia enjoys dressing him up. Notice the dress up shoe on his paw. It really completed the whole outfit! :-)

Allen's Engagement Party

Allen and Jessica are getting married in less than 2 weeks. We can't believe it. They've been engaged for over a year, now. We attended a lovely engagement party for them in March!

Our little Allen is about to get all married! I wish I had a picture with Jessica, his fiance'. She couldn't be a more beautiful person inside and out. We are so happy to have her as a part of our family. Well, she's awesome. Sorry, I don't have a picture of her.

Nature Fest

Jackson has an awesome Natural Science Museum. We've already been twice since we moved back. Nature Fest was one weekend in April. It was a fun, fun time! Most importantly Olivia and Patrick got to meet Sid the Science Kid from PBS. That was the highlight. We also saw Steve Trash, Rockin Eco Hero. He used garbage for all of his magic tricks. The kids LOVED it!!! They learned about recycling, got free energy efficient lightbulbs and got to hang with a real turtle out on the lawn. Very cool.

The three kids excited about going to the Nature Fest. Can't you see the excitement on Charlie's face? haha. He's on his way to play with his cousin Milo at Aunt Jessica's house.

Oh, Blog! I have not forgotten you.

Well, as you can tell I'm having a hard time fitting blogging into my life here in MS. I realize that I'm being a terrible friend by not posting. I have about 15 entries I could do because I'm so behind!! What to do.... It feels like that part of the house that is totally disorganized. You know it's there but you avoid it like the plague because you know you are so far behind in organizing it that it will take you a gadgillion years to finish it, so you just keep avoiding it. That's the way I'm feeling about this blog. It's just one more of those things that I feel behind in.

I'll shut up now and just post some pictures.

These are from Easter Sunday. It was a fun weekend with the family. We did a TON of cooking, as usual. It was awesome that we didn't have to fly home for a holiday. How crazy!!!
