Memorial Day at the Lake

We had a fabulous time at the Lake house in Lousiana with Stephen's family. Olivia enjoyed playing with her cousins and LOVED the jet ski!!!

Self portraits

This is what happens when a 4 year old tries to take a self portrait. I admire her determination.

More wedding pictures...

I loved these pictures taken by Olivia. We were all waiting around for family pictures.

Wedding mania!!! Part Two...

My brother's wedding was amazing! Olivia had the honor of being the flower girl. She LOVED walking down the aisle. So much so that she did it several times. haha. Three or four steps past the start of the seating, Olivia realized she hadn't started throwing the petals. So, she turned around and started over, again. Patrick followed her. Priceless moment! When she got to the end of the aisle in front of the altar, she hadn't thrown out all her petals. She stood there until every petal was out of her basket. She wasn't going to let her Jessica Bunting down. Priceless. Olivia recessed right after Jessica and Allen and apparently didn't know what to do so she just came back down the aisle. It worked well because she helped escort my mom out. She loved that aisle. haha.

Here is the site of their photgrapher. If you go to his blog, then scroll down to the very bottom, click on Mr. and Mrs. McGehee.

We were so blessed to be able to enjoy festivities for my brother's wedding and my cousin's wedding in the same weekend in May! Here are pictures from my cousin, Melissa's, wedding. I didn't get many good shots of her and her new husband, Jay. Check out this blog for more pictures of them. Melissa was gorgeous!!!

Crack me ups...

So, here are some "Oliviaisms" of late:

1. Olivia a.k.a "The Great Negotiator" Olivia was having one of those days with two scrapped up knees and then an accident at the potty. She was in definite need of a bath. I promised her a trip to the theatre to see "UP" and a new swim suit, if she would just hop in and wash off. After much complaining and running away, she said, "Mommy, (with both hands out) how bout this...we'll order the movie on the Flix (Netflix) and we'll order my suit off the internet." She's an excellent negotiator.

2. I've been attending Weight Watchers meetings, again. Olivia came with me to one meeting where the teacher really hit upon my biggest issue...control. My little sponge took this information to heart and told me a few days later, "You're in control of the food. The food is not in control of you, Mommy." Thank you, Olivia. I need you to tell me that 20 times a day. She's definitely gearing up to be a great WW teacher. :-)

3. As we were getting into the car a few weeks ago, she told me, "I want to be 6." I said, "Why do you want to be 6? " She replied so casually, "So I can have a boyfriend!" What!!!! Not already.

4. At her library classes, they have been doing the limbo or as Olivia calls it the "pongo". I have no idea why but she sure loves to do the "pongo".

5. Olivia was breastfeeding her doll the other day. I asked her how everything was going. She said her nipples were hurting so bad and she was going to re-latch. I obviously talk about breastfeeding a little too much. ;-)

Homeschool Fun!

We have been blessed to find a local homeschooling group called PEAK. So far, we have enjoyed an Easter Egg Hunt, Park time at Okatibee Lake, The Riley Center performance of the Mammoth Follies, Fire Academy in Jackson, Trip to a local TV station for a tour from the Meteorologist, Earth Day Field trip to a local farm, raising about $1400 for St. Jude Children's Hospital, completing the Trike-A-Thon, and a pool party for the 1st anniversary of PEAK.
